River Action is a UK-based environmental charity committed to addressing the severe problem of river pollution, particularly that caused by agricultural and food industry practices, and sewage discharge by water companies. We find creative and innovative ways of unlocking action and delivering impact on the ground. Our rivers are at a crisis point. An overwhelming body of recent evidence confirms that virtually all of the UK’s rivers are polluted beyond legal limits – with many facing severe environmental challenges. Our purpose is to apply pressure on industrial producers, regulators and the government to take greater responsibility for remedying the adverse environmental impact their supply chains are having on the health of our rivers.
